The big day out

                                       The big day out.

On Tuesday 7 November Te  Kinga students went out on a big day out. We went on a walk called the Velenski walk.

Then we went to Lake Brunner  and sat on the rocks and ate our lunch. After we ate our lunch we went to check the traps but we did not get anything. Next we went down to the beach by Lake Brunner  

and lit some fires and built huts. My group won the competition for the best hut.While our fires were going we  made s'mores.Then we began the walk back to school.

Today we had our principal teaching us and she was teaching us how to do captions.

Te kinga camp

Te kinga camp on Wednesday the 3 of November  2021.Te kinga class finally got to go to their camp,

first we when to lake kaniere and had a swim

and smores, but I could not eat them.

The next day we went to the hokitika  gorge,

And the tree top walk also we when to the industrial museum and lots of other things it was very nice and                                                                                        interesting learning about things we never knew about.

 Kevin and Mike where teaching us about water,  Kevin  us on Tuesday  last week  and Mike taut us today on Monday the 24 of May. Mike was teaching us how he test the lake water  and when he finished teaching us we went to this place with wet land. We used nets to see what was in the little ponds that where there.

Art smart

 For topic this week my group was doing art smart. For art smart we had to take  photos of water.It was really hard for are group because we did it after lunch and it was sunny so all the water was basically dry already  Here are some photos.

Today we built a bridge for Topic and we also read a piece of writing that had facts about bridges in it.

Back to School

 I am so happy that we are back at school, because we always do fun activities at school.But I hope that I get better at my spelling and maths this term. I'm also really excited to start playing the new game Handball that are teacher Nic is teaching us.

The trip up Mt Te Kinga

On Thursday last week our class went for a walk up to the 3rd lookout on Mount Te Kinga. Afterwards we had a swim in  Iveagh bay. We walked up the mountain in groups I was in a group with Alice, Ally and Makayla, but on the walk I hurt my knee on the way up there so I had to get a stick to help me back down the mountain.

 So a couple of weeks ago, we made crystals with the whole class. We all made them out of different elements. We were in groups of 3. I was in a group with Jimi and Zaine and we made our crystals out of sand and hot water

in a jar without a lid. Here is a picture...  the stick is what holds up the pipe cleaner which will hold the crystal. 

what is the value of sport and physical at school.

I think it is a good thing that we do sports at School, because it keeps us all fit and healthy. So I really like how we do fitness every day. We have been doing lots of Sports lately, for example we did Swimming Sports two weeks ago and then last week we also did Athletics.

Part of the Geology we learnt about was the life cycle of rocks  and how they form and everything. We also learned what different types of rock you can find all over the world.

Mistakes why are they important ?

 Why is it in Important to make mistakes??

-  You mainly make mistakes when you learn                                          because you have to make mistakes to learn.

-     Sometimes mistakes can even be funny. 

-      Mistakes can be right or wrong                                                              and good or bad
